Aluminum Precut Jacketing (.016") is an ideal solution for protecting insulated pipes in harsh outdoor environments. Designed from .016" thick smooth aluminum, this jacketing is precision-cut and rolled into 3-foot sections to fit various pipe insulation sizes accurately. The interior of the aluminum pipe sleeve is coated with a Polyfilm Moisture Barrier, which delivers outstanding resistance to moisture and abrasion during installation, ensuring long-term durability.
This versatile aluminum insulation jacketing is perfect for various cladding applications particular to mechanical insulation systems including use with Fiberglass Pipe Insulation, Mineral Wool Pipe Insulation, Foamglas Pipe Insulation, and Rubber Pipe Insulation. The interior of this product is lined with a 3mm thick co-extruded Surlyn and Polyethylene moisture retarder. This film is laminated to the aluminum sheet by a process of heat and pressure.
With its superior strength and weather resistance, aluminum precut jacketing is recommended for pipelines up to 24" in diameter, offering reliable mechanical protection and weatherproofing. The bare mill finish of the exterior adds a professional look while performing effectively in extreme conditions.
Installation Highlights:
Always align the lap of the aluminum jacketing downward on horizontal piping to prevent rainwater seepage.
Use fab straps for secure attachment, ensuring straps are placed close to joint connections.
Overlap joints on vertical piping with the higher section placed over the lower to prevent water intrusion.
Apply aluminum-colored silicone caulking to all joints and laps on exterior piping.
Install expansion joints with a 6" to 8" overlap to allow for temperature-induced expansion and contraction.
For robust performance and unmatched protection, Aluminum Precut Jacketing (.016") with Polysurlyn Moisture Retarder is the go-to choice for insulating and weatherproofing exterior pipelines.
